New York photographer Michelle Lange explains why she made the move to Workspace - to download a copy of her comparison spreadsheet go to http://bit.ly/HKBkpU A big thank you to everyone who sent feedback about our new Workspace landing page! We loved your compliments, we appreciated your suggestions, and we were struck by the number of people who hadn’t realised how much Workspace - or for that matter Queensberry - can offer! Some people also said they'd like some help getting set up, which got us thinking... What if we set up your Workspace site for you? Website, custom URL, SEO tools, price To View More >>
I was working with a client last evening sorting out their album design, and yet again marveling at PJ Remix. We were looking at what we might do with their design to take it away from the ordinary. The expression Pimp My Album came to mind ... and things went crazy! There were tassels, dice, bling, and all sorts of flame shaped graphics ... quickly recognised as possibly on the absurd side of album creativity. It did get me thinking how I might accessorise my beautiful classic album. I thought I would start a list! The obvious beginning is a case ... there are two available (three if you include To View More >>
We regret to say the fibre connection to our print lab has just been cut. As a consequence our FTP upload service has been disrupted and you will not be able to upload orders from Photojunction until it is repaired. Our lab team is also out of email and phone contact. Our Bindery staff are still able to communicate and Workspace is operating normally. We are moving staff between sites so that we can get tech support back up and running within an hour or so. We are working on this urgently and will advise when we know how long the repair will take, but we expect it to be a matter of several hours. To View More >>

I was talking to Simon, one of our album layout designers, about how the team were finding the new Workspace album proofing feature. They've been using it with photographers for a few months now and I was keen to get his feedback. What follows is pretty much his response verbatim. "It's working brilliantly! We get to review the studio’s comments alongside the relevant layouts. It’s accurate and clear to follow. "Not having to interpret requests for edits in emails is a real bonus. The integrated communication between the studio, bride and groom, and designer keeps everybody in the loop, and To View More >>
Many years ago I headed to an up-market department store to buy a gift. When I asked the person behind the counter to show me what I wanted, she replied, “It’s expensive you know”. Was she suggesting that I couldn’t afford it, or was she reflecting on her own economic situation? She should have known better. Her job was to show me the product, work with my enthusiasm and make the business she worked for better off. As a business person I’ve reflected on this incident often. I’m always reminded of it at trade shows when people look at our albums and say things like, “They're so beautiful, To View More >>
Let's face it, if you don't import images into Workspace then not a lot is going to happen. Unless you're just using it to proof the albums you've designed in Photojunction, that is. So let's start at the Dashboard, and click New Event. The first thing Workspace will ask for is an Event name. This could be your clients' names. Click Create Event. Once you have done that, click Add Images To Event, and browse for your files. The maximum size for a file is 28MB, and it needs to be a JPEG or TIFF. But choose a size that's suitable for what you want to use it for – no bigger, or you'll be using To View More >>

Have you had a look at our Knowledge base in Workspace? It covers not just information about Workspace, but also Photojunction, Queensberry products and our printing and design services. To continue my rave on The Junction earlier in the year about image slicing and dicing, here are a few thoughts about designing a pressbook with particular consideration to keeping your mind (and your clients' heads) out of the gutter! Photojunction makes designing a Queensberry album very easy and FAST. But while the layouts look very similar on-screen between albums and press books - in reality these two products are vastly different. When you're working on screen it's really easy to forget that a press book is, well, a book, and the pages don't lie flat. Queensberry press books (like most other To View More >>
As we announced back in February, we're in the process of streamlining the way Photojunction handles third-party vendors. As part of that process, we will tomorrow be removing the Cover Material, Cover Style, and Titles resources, as well as the largely unused “Send Order” functionality for all suppliers other than Queensberry. If you're using PJ to design Queensberry albums, or not using the functions listed above, you won't notice any difference. Only those designing for a handful of vendors are affected, and we understand that those most affected have been working through the transition To View More >>
As our colour correction policy outlines, when you order Full Colour Service we colour-correct your images so as to optimise natural skin-tones and achieve consistency across all the images in the album. However, if you run Photoshop actions or add special effects/tones to your images and the desired effect differs from these guidelines, we'd ask that you leave a quick note on your order to let us know, so we don't undo the work you've done on them. It's easy to leave notes in Photojunction: - Add notes to specific apertures by right-clicking on an image and selecting the 'Add/Edit Aperture To View More >>
